What’s in the digest

Four changes that signal a potential buyer. We check the register daily and clean the data for you. If you’re not a CareWire subscriber, you won’t be the first to know.

New registrations

New services

Every care home, homecare agency, clinic and dental practice newly registered that week – name, location, service type, beds where recorded, provider, and phone and website where published.

Rating changes

Inspection outcomes

Every service whose CQC rating changed, with the rating before and after. The regulator publishes these monthly, so they arrive in the first digest of each month. Pro tier.

Ownership changes

Changes of provider

Locations that moved to a new provider or re-registered under new ownership.

Manager vacancies

Registered-manager gaps

Services newly reporting that they have no registered manager in post.

What lands in your inbox

Plain English. No dashboard to log into. Every entry: service name, type, location, beds, provider, and phone & website where CQC publishes them – dated at source. CSV attached on Pro.

FAQ

Where does the data come from?

Mostly from the Care Quality Commission’s public register, via their API, checked daily. CareWire contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. We add the filtering, classification and delivery – the underlying record is the regulator’s.

Why not just buy a cheap CSV of the register?

You absolutely can — and you’ll have a large, dead spreadsheet that was out of date the moment it was exported. The public ratings data most people rely on hasn’t moved for several years. The register itself changes daily. We reconcile both, every week. CareWire isn’t a database: it’s the news that a care home has opened near you, that a manager has left, that a rating has dropped and a contract is about to be reviewed.

Why not just check the CQC website myself?

You can – it’s free, and the data is the same. The difficulty is that the register covers around 50,000 locations and there’s no view of what changed this week for businesses like yours. We check it daily, sort the changes by trade and region, and send you the ones that matter. Whether that’s worth £39 a month depends on how you currently spend your Monday mornings.

Is this GDPR-compliant?

The digest contains information about organisations, drawn from a public statutory register, redistributed under its open licence. Where an individual’s name appears in that register, we honour removal requests immediately – one email does it. We’re registered with the ICO, and our privacy notice sets out the full basis.

What if there’s nothing relevant in my area one week?

Then your digest says so, briefly. We’d rather tell you “nothing this week” than pad it. That’s rare, though — across England there are several hundred changes a week, which is why the trade and region filters matter. Our subscribers want a short list of relevant leads, not a list of everything possible.

Can I cancel easily?

Yes – self-serve from the link in every email, effective at the end of the billing period. No calls, no retention scripts.
